Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take trips with kids?
We love taking kids fishing! We generally recommend ages 5 and up, but it depends on the child. Our guides will handle the casting, baiting, and coaching as needed so kids can focus on having fun. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.
How many people can you accommodate?
Trip capacity depends on the type of fishing and the boat being used.
Bass Fishing: Our bass trips are conducted from high-performance bass boats and involve constant casting, so we limit these trips to 3 anglers to ensure everyone has plenty of room to fish comfortably. If your group is larger, we're happy to arrange multiple boats so everyone can fish together.
Striped Bass: Striper trips are typically run from either a pontoon or bass boat, depending on the group size and current conditions. Our pontoon comfortably accommodates 4 anglers, plus the guide and a deckhand, and we may occasionally be able to accommodate a fifth angler.
Crappie Fishing: Crappie trips are offered from our spacious pontoon, allowing up to 5 anglers to enjoy a comfortable and productive day on the water.
Do you provide rods, reels, and tackle?
Yes! We provide premium rods, reels, tackle, bait (when applicable), and all required safety equipment.
What if I've never fished before?
No problem. Our guides enjoy teaching anglers of all experience levels, from complete beginners to seasoned fishermen.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is always our top priority. We fish in rain and wind, so trips are only canceled for unsafe conditions such as lightning, heavy downpours, or high sustained winds. If we have to cancel due to weather, we'll first work with you to reschedule. If we can't find a new date, you'll receive a full refund.
What's your cancellation policy?
A $100 deposit is required to reserve your trip. Deposits are fully refundable up to 48 hours before your scheduled trip. Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the deposit, and same-day cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full trip price. We understand life happens, though, and whenever possible we'll do our best to work with you on rescheduling.
What species do you target?
We are mostly known for largemouth bass, but we also fish for striped bass, crappie, and northern snakehead (coming soon). We also offer electronics training, Lake Anna breakdown sessions, fishing lessons, and boating instruction upon request.
Can we keep the fish we catch?
Yes! We are advocates for conservation and harvesting fish is important to maintaining a healthy fishery. Our only request for harvesting fish is to put any bass over 16" that would be considered a tournament bass (a fish large enough we don't want to remove them from the lake). This only applies to largemouth bass.
How long are your trips?
We offer both half-day and full-day trips. Half-day trips are 4 hours and often kick off early morning or in the evening timed to conclude around sunset. Half-day trips are perfect for hot Summer days or trips with kids where they may get restless after a few hours. We also offer full-day trips (8 hours) for anglers wanting to spend more time on the water.
What should I bring?
Bring whatever you'd normally pack for a day on the water—weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, food, and drinks. We'll take care of the fishing gear.
Is alcohol allowed?
Yes, it's BYOB if you'd like to enjoy a drink on the water. Just remember we're here to fish, not party. If alcohol results in unsafe conditions, we reserve the right to end the trip without a refund.
Can I bring my own fishing gear?
Of course. You're welcome to bring anything you'd like and we'll work to make space in the boat
Should I tip my guide?
Tips are never required but are always appreciated. If your guide provided a great experience, 15–20% is customary.
